Run a Marathon
Getting on the London Marathon is really difficult and almost impossible if you are not sponsored by a charity.
As I don’t like asking for money when the tasks are things I want to do, I have decided to not be sponsored for my activities.
Therefore I have signed up to the Paris Marathon for 2010 as this is easier to get onto the list and will give me a chance to see Paris.
I will be running a half marathon the year before so the overall training time is about 2 years for this task.
Train in Thailand for 3 months
After looking into the best placed to train, I have found a club in Phuket that seems to offer everything I am looking for.
It is a Muay Thai, MMA, Thai Boxing training camp called Tiger Muay Thai. www.tigermuaythai.com
It offers training for beginners (me) all the way to the professionals that fight in the UFC.
After sending a few emails to the organisers I am confident that this is the right place for me to train.
I have been training at Next Generation MMA in Liverpool and London Fight Factory on and off so have a rough idea of what to expect from this challenge.
Swim the Channel
This is the task I know the least about. I swam allot when I was a kid and am still a confident swimmer so hopefully 6 months training for this should be enough to achieve this goal.
This is the last task on my list so don’t hold your breath for me to get this completed anytime soon.
Bike from John O Groats to Lands End
I aim to do this bike ride of about 800 miles over the course of 10 days. This will require me to bike regularly before doing this and organise a route between the 2 points of the UK. Hopefully I will be able to find a few people who are willing to join me on this adventure. I have a few friends that have shown interest so we’ll see if they follow through with this commitment.
I have not researched this much yet so check be soon to see how I plan to complete this.
I don’t like putting my life in some elses hands so doing a tandem jump is not for me, it has to be a solo jump.
This is a 2 day task.
1 day training to learn everything I need to know to do a solo jump.
The second day will be the jump itself with me throwing myself out of a plane at 15,000 feet and free-falling for 60 secs (hopefully no more).
I know these seem like big tasks but I hope by going through one at a time I can achieve everything listed here.
