Getting to Thailand Part 1

Up at 5:30am on the saturday morning with bags packed. Breakfast and last odd jobs completed ready for the taxi to pick me up at 6:30am. Starting to feel the nerves now as I leave my flat.
Arrived at Heathrow airport nice and early for my 9:30 flight.

Flying with Jet Airways Indian upto Bangkok as the price was good and reviews online were excellent. I admit that I wasn’t disappointed. Each person has their own personal tv screen which plays on-demand movies and these movies were films that have only just come out in the cinemas recently. Managed to watch 4 films on my journey which kept me thoroughly entertained.

The food was good. I’m not a big curry fan but as the only option for breakfast, lunch and dinner I had no choice but to try it. I was surprised as my tastes are normally very bland but these meals had a slight spice taste but not overpowering for me to not enjoy my food.

The long 8 hour flight to Bombay is a bit tiresome so I had to get up and do a quick walk around very few hours (between films).

Bombay was interesting. As I had a connection flight to catch and our flight was late anyway I didn’t get much of a chance to see this airport, but just after the security point were several gentleman dressed smartly offering you access to a private lounge. I believe this private lounge is just behind a restaurant and allows you to smoke inside the airport. Interesting that this seemed like something that was illegal but how you can hide something like that from the airport security is beyond me. I think it was just a way to make tourist feel like they are living life a little. Either way I would of liked to see it if I had the time.

Next flight is 4 hours to Bangkok.
